FAQ

Questions, answered

How do I add Kamomi to my phone, like an app?

Kamomi works as a home-screen app on both iPhone and Android — no app store needed. Make sure you’re not in private or incognito mode first. On iPhone, open Kamomi in Safari, tap the Share icon, then "Add to Home Screen".On Android, open Kamomi in Chrome, tap the ⋮ menu, then "Add to Home screen"(or "Install app").From then on it opens full- screen straight from your home screen.

Is Kamomi free to use?

Yes — creating a calendar, adding events, and sharing it with your family are all free.

What holidays does Kamomi track?

Chinese festivals (shown in red) and British bank holidays (shown in blue) are built in and appear automatically every year, with no setup required. Those two colours are reserved for festivals so they never get confused with your own events.

How do I share my calendar with family?

Open Share on your calendar. The invite link lets anyone who opens it join as a full member who can see and add events. The public link is read-only and only shows which times are busy — never titles or details — for people you'd rather not give full access to.

How do I rename my calendar?

Only the calendar owner can do this. Click the calendar name at the top of your calendar (it shows a pencil icon) — it turns into a text box. Type the new name, then press Enter or click away to save.

Can I remove someone from my calendar, or leave one I've joined?

Yes. Open Share → Members. The owner can remove any other member; anyone else can remove themselves (Leave). As the owner, you can't leave your own calendar — since every account only has one.

Can I reset my public share link?

Yes — open Share → Public view-only link → Regenerate link. That immediately invalidates the old link and gives you a new one, handy if it's ever ended up somewhere you didn't intend. There's no separate on/off switch, just regenerate to cut off the old link.

Can I track birthdays by the lunar calendar?

Yes. Add a Western birth date and optionally turn on lunar tracking — Kamomi works out the matching lunar date and reminds you every year on both, even as the lunar date shifts on the Western calendar.

Can I import my existing calendar?

Yes. Export your calendar as an .ics file from Google Calendar, Outlook, or Apple Calendar, then use Import on your Kamomi calendar to bring those events in.

Can I choose what colour my events show as?

Yes — pick from a small set of colours for your own events. Festival red, holiday blue, and birthday pink are reserved, so your events never get mistaken for a festival.

If I edit or delete a repeating event, does it change one date or the whole series?

Editing or deleting a repeating event always affects the whole series — there's no way to change a single occurrence on its own yet. If you only want to change one date going forward, set an end date on the current series and start a new one from that date.

Can I change my name or password?

Yes. Click your avatar in the top right → Settings. Your display name is under Account, and your password is under Security.
